The Gosowong Barbarians - The original school of Hard Knockers.

The Gosowong Barbarians are a Rugby Union Tens side, with a long, varied history. The Barbarians have participated in international tournaments to universal acclaim, their attendance at tournaments warmly welcomed.

Originally conceived at approx 12.03am, 21 July, 2001, at a most unlikely location: the Gosowong Two Rivers Pub.

The aim, to scrap a team together consisting of ageing has-beens (in an attempt to re-live past glories) and to introduce unsuspecting Indonesians to the game of Rugby.

To the present, we have proudly competed in both the 2001-2005 Bali and Jkt 10’s.

The Indonesian boys have taken to the game with great enthusiasm and have done us proud on each occasion.

The ultimate aim was to create the very first all Indonesian Rugby side. This was achieved June 2004 at the Jakarta 10’s.

Together, with our sponsors, whose support we are eternally grateful for, we are dedicated to the future promotion of the game of Rugby to the Indonesian community. Especially in the Nth Maluku/Papua region, where the Barbarians still remain undefeated on our home ground!

As as a special bonus, enjoy an image of the club captain, Terry Pilch.
